i cant get bioshock on steam to launch. i just see the logo and then the screen goes black and i have to use the task manager to close it. i know my computers powerful enough. i play other newer games on steam like fear2 and portal2 and crysis 2 on it with no sweat. i don't know why it wont start. my computers also fairly newWhy wont bioshock start on steam?
After double checking to see if your gfx card is compatible (check your direct x version as well), try reinstalling, because sometimes games can get a little screwed up upon installing.
Just thought of this: do you have a big monitor? If you are trying to run it at a resolution that is bigger than the game can handle, you might run into crashes. This happened to me with Left 4 Dead.
I wouldn't suspect that your comp speed is the problem. Look into the drivers, direct x and type of gfx card
