Should I buy from steam or from stores?

You can buy games via : -steam

-game stores

If you buy them from steam it has more players/less players/ = number of players online (compared to the box sold in stores) , or it has its own community. ex: counter strike, crysis 2. I get it from steam it has 50k players, but if you get it from store it has more/less/= ammount of players?Should I buy from steam or from stores?
dont listen to all this **** above me

its the same game has the same number of players on each one

it doesnt matter if you buy from store or steam cause once you purchase the game you have to download the game on steam by typing in the "cd key"

once that is done you can throw away the cd you purchased

because the game will be on you steam account FOREVERShould I buy from steam or from stores?
I'm not entirely sure on what your asking, because to me its not very clear. But from what i understand, you want to know if you should buy from steam or the store.

There is no difference on game communities from either, i bought portal 2 from wal-mart and played with a friend who bought it off steam. Any games bought from store can be added to your steam library. Steam can be better sometimes if they have games on sale (like Christmas they have amazing sales). So for online community there is no difference, store bought games can be added to steam, and can play with each other.

A disadvantage to buying form store though is that your disc can get scratched and become unplayable, while a game bought from steam wont get damaged at all and will always be playable on your account.

Overall, both are good, but Steam is better for sales and if you always scratch your discs (to keep them safe)Should I buy from steam or from stores?
You just confused me.
